Bear Statham - Class Of 2027

I am a committed Division I defender for the UAlbany Great Danes, Class of 2031. I am a committed Division I defender for the UAlbany Great Danes, Class of 2031

Driven by discipline, toughness, and a high defensive IQ, I strive to impact every game with physicality, leadership, and a relentless work ethic.
My focus now is developing into a championship-caliber player and contributing to a program built on speed, intensity, and pride and ultimately contributing to win a National Championship.

FALL Tournament Highlight 2025

Competing against elite national club programs throughout the Fall 2025 tournament circuit, Bear played a key role as a close defender for 3d Georgia Red 2027. Facing high-tempo offenses and top Division I level talent, he consistently demonstrated disciplined on-ball defense, strong positioning, and effective communication within the defensive unit. The team’s defensive performance was a major factor in controlling pace, limiting scoring opportunities, and maintaining a strong positive goal differential against high-level competition.

Summer 2025

Competing on the Alliance circuit during Summer 2025, Bear played close defense for 3d Georgia Red 2027 against elite national competition. His strong summer performance earned recognition from Prep Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse, reflecting his athleticism, defensive consistency, and effectiveness against high-level offensive matchups.

Fall 2024

During the Fall 2024 season, Bear competed in high-level national tournaments with 3d Georgia Red, facing strong club programs and Division I–level prospects. The fall schedule provided a demanding competitive environment that emphasized disciplined team defense, physical matchups, and consistent execution. Bear continued to develop as a close defender, showing improved on-ball technique, off-ball awareness, and communication within the defensive unit. The fall served as an important foundation for his continued growth and set the stage for a breakout Summer 2025.
